Process

How the Carpentry Repair Is Completed

1

Inspect the affected wood

We check the visible damage, nearby joints, fasteners, framing, door fit, and access around the work area.

2

Separate repair from replacement

We identify which wood remains sound and which section needs removal or replacement for a stable fit.

3

List the repair and leave the rest out

We explain the planned work, related preparation, and estimate before carpentry begins.

4

Fit and reinforce the parts

We repair trim, fit doors, reinforce joints, or address framing within the agreed project scope.

5

Review the completed work

A lead crew member reviews the finished work with the customer and checks the result against the agreed plan.

Choosing the Right Carpentry Scope

Start with the damaged connection

Customers get an inspection that looks beyond loose trim to fasteners, joints, casing, and nearby wood. This service is a poor fit when the issue needs electrical, plumbing, or engineering work.

Keep repair and finish work aligned

Customers can address carpentry before related painting begins, so the finish does not cover an unresolved wood problem. The agreed plan sets which repairs are included.

Use the right material decision

Customers receive a repair approach based on the condition of the existing wood. Sound material may be retained, while damaged sections may need replacement for a proper fit.

Repair or Replace the Affected Wood

This comparison helps customers understand the main decision after the wood has been inspected.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

We had been putting off painting our house because there is never a great time to do so. After we decided to do it, we got 6 bids, some where very low, with low grade products, other very high with outrageous considerations, Jeff and his team came dead in the middle with amazing notes from the first visit, careful workmanship and with top of the line quality product. Scheduling was a breeze with Lorena make it so easy for us even with a busy schedule during the summer. The best experience we've had, we basically did not notice the team was working. They arrived every day super early, left the area pristine, and delivered a great quality outcome in the entire exterior job. We are super happy with the pain, the look and all the recommendation and fixes the team did. We will definitely work with 365Painting Solutions for all of our future painting needs. Thank you for making this experience simple and painless.

Efrain and the crew were a pleasure to have in the house and the careful workmanship was amazing.

Questions About These Carpentry Repairs

What carpentry repairs can you handle?

Trim repair, wood framing, door fitting, and joint reinforcement are carpentry repairs we handle. We inspect the affected wood and nearby connections before setting the scope. The work may include removing damaged sections, fitting replacement wood, strengthening a joint, or adjusting a door and casing. The estimate explains which tasks belong to the project.

How do you decide whether wood can be repaired?

Wood condition decides whether a part can be repaired or needs replacement. We check for soft areas, split edges, loose fasteners, failed joints, and damage behind the visible surface. Customers get an explanation of the finding before work begins. A repair must leave enough sound material for the new fasteners or joint to hold.

Which parts should I photograph before requesting an estimate?

Photos of the damaged wood, nearby joints, door edges, and the full opening help explain the job before an estimate. Include one close view and one wider view of each affected area. Customers should also note whether a door rubs, trim moves, or a joint opens during normal use. We can then review access and scope in person when needed.

When is a door fitting issue a carpentry job?

A door fitting issue is a carpentry job when the slab, casing, frame, hinges, stops, or nearby wood cause the poor fit. We inspect the contact points and connected parts before adjusting anything. Customers should mention rubbing, gaps, sticking, or a door that fails to latch. Electrical or plumbing problems require a different trade.

Why does a joint need reinforcement instead of filler?

A joint needs reinforcement when the connection has lost strength, not just when a gap is visible. Filler can improve appearance, but it does not restore a weak wood connection. We check the joint edges, surrounding wood, and fastening points before choosing the repair. Customers should avoid covering a moving joint until it has been assessed.

What changes the estimate for trim repair?

The damaged area, access, wood condition, and repair method change the trim repair estimate. A loose surface section may need less work than trim connected to damaged framing or a poorly fitted opening. We also consider protection and related preparation. The free estimate gives customers a project scope before work begins.
