What Ceiling Painting Covers

Ceiling Painting is an interior coating service that prepares and paints overhead surfaces.

  • Ceiling Painting differs from wall painting because overhead surfaces reveal roller marks, flashing, stains, and texture changes more readily.
  • The service scope includes surface preparation, repairs, protection, paint application, cleanup, and a customer walkthrough.

About

What ceiling painting covers before the finish coat

Ceiling painting starts with a look at the surface, surrounding fixtures, and the room's use. We identify stains, cracks, loose paint, old texture, and areas that need repair before coating. Our crew protects floors, furnishings, fixtures, and nearby work areas. Preparation can include cleaning, sanding, repairs, and primer when the surface calls for it. We also remove popcorn ceilings or damaged textures when that work is part of the agreed scope. Ceiling size alone doesn't define the job. Texture removal, access, repairs, furniture placement, and the number of surface conditions all affect the written estimate. A free consultation gives us the details needed to plan the work.

Write the project scope

We provide a written, itemized scope and estimate that sets out the planned preparation and painting work.

Prepare the overhead surface

We clean, repair, sand, and prime when required, and remove old paint or damaged texture when included in the scope.

5

Apply paint and review

We paint the prepared ceiling, clean the work area, and complete a customer walkthrough with correction review.

365 Painting Solutions did an excellent job on painting the entire interior of our house. The whole crew is so helpful and the process was so easy. We can't say enough about how thrilled we are with the end result. Jeff and Lorena did a great job helping us pick the perfect color! The team at 365 did a great job painting our house. They painted the full exterior of our house, including all the trim, front door, and garage doors. Their color matching was spot on, and the front door and porch trim finish is perfectly smooth. They even did a nice job with caulking as well.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

Questions about painting a ceiling

What changes the cost of painting a ceiling?

Ceiling condition and preparation needs decide the estimate. Stains, cracks, loose paint, popcorn removal, damaged texture, room access, and protection needs can change the scope. Room size also matters, but it does not tell the whole story. We review these details during a free consultation and provide a written, itemized estimate before work begins.

Can you paint a ceiling with stains or cracks?

Stained or cracked ceilings need inspection before finish paint is applied. We check whether cleaning, repair, sanding, or primer is needed for the surface. Paint alone may not address the cause of a visible defect. We explain the preparation plan and include the agreed work in the written scope.

Who provides ceiling painting in Redmond, Washington?

PainterRedmondwa.com provides ceiling painting for homeowners and commercial clients in Redmond, Washington. We discuss the ceiling condition during a free consultation and in-home meeting. Our work can include protection, surface preparation, repairs, priming, paint application, cleanup, and a final customer walkthrough.

What should I compare in ceiling painting estimates?

A ceiling estimate should show preparation, repair, protection, paint work, and cleanup. Compare whether the scope addresses stains, cracks, loose paint, texture, fixtures, and surrounding surfaces. Our written, itemized estimate sets out the planned work before it begins. That detail helps you compare the actual scope, not just the finish coat.

Do I need to empty the room before ceiling painting?

Room access affects how we protect furnishings and apply ceiling paint. Move small or fragile items when possible, and tell us which larger pieces must remain. We protect furnishings, floors, fixtures, and surrounding areas during preparation and application. We can review access needs during the in-home meeting.

Does ceiling painting include popcorn texture removal?

Popcorn texture removal can be included when the written scope calls for it. We protect the room, remove the old texture, repair the exposed surface, and prepare it for refinishing. Texture removal needs more preparation than painting a sound ceiling. We assess the surface during the consultation before setting the estimate.

Scenarios

When Customers Call Us About Ceiling Painting

1

Stains Returning Through Fresh Paint

A ceiling can show brown or yellow marks after an earlier coat, especially when residue or an old moisture issue remains. Painting over the mark may leave the same problem visible. Tell us when the stain appeared and whether the surface feels loose or damp. We’ll inspect the area, explain the preparation needed, and include that work in the written scope.

2

Popcorn Texture Ready for Removal

A homeowner may want a smoother ceiling before changing the room’s color or style. Texture removal adds surface preparation, protection, and repair needs beyond a simple finish coat. Share which rooms are included and whether fixtures must stay in place. We’ll assess the texture and explain the work needed before refinishing the ceiling.

3

Commercial Ceiling During Interior Updates

A commercial client may need ceiling work while other interior improvements are planned. Fixture locations, furnishings, and access paths affect how we protect the space and define the scope. Provide the property layout and any access limits during the consultation. We’ll review the ceiling condition and coordinate the written plan with the surrounding work.
